Brother arrested for assaulting sister in Lagos
A distressing case of domestic abuse came to light when an X user, @Ayomiepat_, shared harrowing images of injuries inflicted on a woman named Abigail Chris by her elder brother. The user revealed that Abigail had been enduring physical abuse at the hands of her brother since 2014 and urgently called for intervention from authorities.
According to @Ayomiepat_, the most recent assault occurred on December 21, 2023, after Abigail refused to live with her brother due to his violent behavior. The user highlighted that this was the second reported incident, shedding light on a pattern of abuse endured by Abigail over the years.
In addition to sharing images of the injuries, @Ayomiepat_ posted a note written by Abigail, expressing deep despair and a desire to cut ties with her family to escape the ongoing abuse. The X user also alleged that Abigail’s family had been attempting to cover up the abuse.
