According to information obtained by Schlagerpuls, the eagerly anticipated participants for Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2024 are slated to be unveiled on January 19. The disclosure was made directly by NDR, the German broadcaster, though it was emphasized that the date is tentative and subject to change.
NDR has confirmed the completion of thorough assessments of all 693 applications, with the final acts for the preliminary round selected around Christmas time. Notably, rejection letters have already been dispatched to certain artists, including pop singer Claudia Kurver. Meanwhile, speculation has been fueled by artists like Marie Reim, who has been teasing her upcoming song “Naiv” on Instagram and hinted that its release is imminent.
Among the rumored applicants are Alexandra Hofmann (with Jørgen Olsen), Marina Marx, and the boy band Zeitflug. However, it remains uncertain whether their acts have progressed in the selection process.
Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2024 is scheduled to be broadcast live from Berlin on February 16 on Das Erste, eurovision.de, and ARD Mediathek. While the exact number of participating acts is yet to be revealed, it is known that one of the contestants will emerge as the winner of “Ich Will Zum ESC!”

Germany’s performance in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 was marked by a last-place finish, with Lord of the Lost and the song “Blood and Glitter.” The group garnered a total of 18 points across both the juries and televote, marking a consecutive last-place outcome for Germany in the contest.
Having been one of the seven countries participating in the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, Germany has been a consistent participant since then, except for 1996 when they failed to advance through the qualifying round. Germany has secured victory in the contest twice, first in 1982 with Nicole’s “Ein Bisschen Frieden,” followed by Lena’s “Satellite” in 2010.
