Labour Party chieftain beheaded in Abia
A tragic and horrifying incident has shaken the community of Uturu in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, where Maduka Zachary, also known as “Power Zac,” a prominent figure within the ruling Labour Party, has been brutally beheaded in his own home.
Reports from Vanguard indicate that Maduka Zachary, who served as the Campaign Director for the Labour Party during the 2023 elections in Uturu, met a gruesome fate at the hands of unidentified assailants who not only took his life but also took away his head, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Abia State, Moureen Chinaka, had not yet been briefed about the incident when initially contacted, indicating the ongoing investigation into the horrifying crime.
However, the Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, Ceekay Igara, confirmed the tragic event. He mentioned that he had spoken with the Labour Party’s Local Government Chairman in the area, who corroborated the news. Igara speculated that the heinous act may be related to the insecurity issues that have plagued the region, as Maduka Zachary was known for his strong stance against insecurity and cultism in the area.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the security challenges faced by communities and the need for collective efforts to combat insecurity and violence in various regions. The loss of Maduka Zachary is not only a personal tragedy for his family and community but also underscores the broader issues of safety and law enforcement in the area. Authorities will likely intensify efforts to investigate and bring the perpetrators of this gruesome crime to justice.
