Lori Allison, Johnny Depp’s first wife, has spoken out about her feelings towards Amber Heard following the defamation trial between the two Hollywood stars. Lori, who married Johnny when he was just 20 years old, has remained close with him despite their divorce just two years later. She recently revealed that seeing Johnny in court “broke her heart” and that she was “terrified” that he would lose the case.
While Lori has remained quiet and out of the public eye to respect Johnny’s wishes for privacy, she felt compelled to share her feelings on the legal battle during an interview on Popcorned Planet. When asked about how she felt seeing Amber Heard make accusations against Johnny, Lori rolled her eyes and described her as “horrific.” She also revealed that if there were illegal things she could do to Amber, she would do them.
Lori went on to express her love for Johnny, describing him as generous with the biggest heart she has ever encountered. She also shared fond memories of their time together, saying she can’t wait to be in a room with him again to give him hugs.
In 2016, Amber accused Johnny of domestic violence, leading to a high-profile court case in the UK in which Johnny sued The Sun for calling him a “wife beater.” Johnny ultimately lost the case and was blacklisted by much of Hollywood, resulting in a loss of film roles. However, after winning his 2022 defamation suit against Amber, he regained Hollywood’s attention.
A jury determined that Amber’s claims against Johnny, which were published in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed, were defamatory, and she was ordered to pay the actor $15 million in damages. However, Johnny was ordered to pay Amber $2 million by the same courtroom after she countersued for defamation. Amber recently filed an appeal, but the former couple reached an agreement that she would pay $1 million to settle the case instead of heading into a third trial.
