Mortuary Worker Confesses They Sell Corpses Bath Water To Pastors For N500k

A startling revelation has emerged from Ghana, where a mortuary attendant has disclosed a rather unusual practice involving the sale of “dead body water” to some pastors in the country. The mortuary worker, whose identity remains undisclosed, shed light on how this unique commodity is in high demand among religious leaders, and the significant sums of money they are willing to pay for it.

According to the report by Yen Gh, the mortuary worker explained that some pastors are willing to pay as much as GH₵7,000 (equivalent to N500,000 in Nigerian currency) for this unusual substance. The demand for “dead body water” is so high that, at times, there is a shortage of it in the mortuary.

The procedure, as described by the mortuary worker, involves family members who prefer to have their deceased loved ones bathed at the mortuary. The water used for this purpose is the same water that the pastors come to purchase. When the mortuary floor is cleaned or mopped after a corpse is bathed, the workers collect the soiled water and store it in containers. It is these containers of “dead body water” that the pastors discreetly acquire.

The mortuary attendant described this practice as a ‘side job’ and admitted to engaging in it to supplement her income. She also acknowledged that the primary work in the mortuary does not provide substantial earnings. The demand for this peculiar commodity is so high that they often struggle to keep up with the requests from pastors.

Interestingly, the mortuary worker did not disclose the names of the pastors or the churches involved in this practice, presumably out of fear of potential backlash or victimization.

The reasons behind pastors purchasing “dead body water” are not entirely clear from the report. However, the worker mentioned that most of these pastors utilize the water to perform miracles for their church members. This revelation raises questions about the beliefs, practices, and rituals within certain religious communities and underscores the need for transparency and accountability in such activities.

The story serves as a thought-provoking reminder of the diversity and complexity of beliefs and practices within religious contexts, as well as the importance of ethical and moral considerations in the pursuit of spiritual goals and miracles.
