NBA star, Tony Snell diagnosed with autism at 31

Tony Snell, a well-established NBA player with a career spanning nine seasons, recently shared a deeply personal revelation. In an interview with “Today” on Friday, June 16, the 31-year-old basketball star disclosed that he had been diagnosed with autism in the previous year. Interestingly, it was his son’s autism diagnosis that inspired him to seek out his own assessment.

During the interview, Snell expressed that the signs of his autism had been present throughout his life. He described himself as often being independent, finding solace in solitude, and struggling to form meaningful connections with others on a personal level. When he received the diagnosis, Snell admitted that he wasn’t surprised, as he had always felt different. However, he also expressed a profound sense of relief, finally understanding why he perceived the world in a unique way. It was as if a veil had been lifted, providing him with a newfound clarity, akin to putting on a pair of 3-D glasses.
