Pervert dad jailed for sexually assaulting his disabled son’s carers
A man who sexually assaulted two carers responsible for looking after his disabled son has been sentenced to jail. Ghulam Hussan, who was struggling with overnight care for his son, had hired the carers to allow him to get some sleep.
During a trial at Manchester Crown Court, it was revealed that the 45-year-old assaulted two women over a six-month period, causing significant harm to both victims. One of the victims testified that her life had changed dramatically in terms of her mental, emotional, and physical well-being following the assault by Hussan.
One incident occurred in November 2019 when Hussan offered to give a massage to one of the carers, during which he sexually touched her. Months later, in April 2020, he sexually assaulted a second carer while giving her a massage. The second victim promptly reported the incident to the police, but Hussan denied any wrongdoing.
After a trial, Hussan was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault and one count of assault by penetration. Summarizing the case, Recorder Andrew Long, the presiding judge, noted that Hussan had been the primary caregiver for his disabled son for many years and had hired overnight carers to assist him while he slept.

Judge Long emphasized that he had no doubt the victims had felt sorry for Hussan and sympathetic to his situation. The court heard that during the first incident, Hussan removed the clothing of one carer from the waist up and sexually touched her, despite knowing that she was uncomfortable. Less than six months later, he committed a similar offense with another carer.
“Then again in May, you stopped her and gave her a message, and touched her naked body including [a sex act],” the judge recounted. “You were convicted after a trial, and a probation report described you as behaving in a sexually predatory way. You pose a high risk to members of the public, specifically female carers. You have never acknowledged your guilt nor expressed regret or remorse.”
The judge highlighted that there were three victims in the case: the two carers who were abused and Hussan’s own son, who relied on him for care. Hussan, residing in Bury’s Alfred Street, was sentenced to 21 months in prison and will be required to sign onto the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
The court was informed that social services had established a plan to ensure ongoing care for Hussan’s son while he is in custody.
