Qatar Begins Construction Of 500,000 Housing Units For Less Privileged In Kaduna

The commencement of a significant housing project in Kaduna State, North-west Nigeria, has garnered attention as Qatar embarks on the construction of 500,000 housing units to uplift the lives of less privileged residents. The inauguration of the Mega Economic City project was led by Qatar’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Ali Bin Ghanem Al-Hajri, and took place in Kaduna.

Qatar’s Ambassador, Ali Bin Ghanem Al-Hajri, emphasized that the central goal of these projects is to enhance the living conditions of underprivileged families residing in Kaduna State. The initiative stands as a testament to Qatar’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable communities.

The ambassador conveyed his appreciation for the support of Governor Uba Sani, acknowledging his pivotal role in facilitating the successful launch of the Qatar Sanabil Project. Beyond the construction of housing units, Qatar Charity has pledged a diverse range of interventions and empowerment programs tailored for the less privileged across Kaduna.

These initiatives encompass various dimensions, such as providing scholarships for orphans and children from economically challenged backgrounds, distributing tools for skills development (sewing machines, welding machines, and salon kits), supplying irrigation pumping machines, and drilling boreholes across Kaduna State’s 23 local government areas.

Governor Uba Sani expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of Qatar in Nigeria and the Qatar-owned Sanabil Project for aligning their efforts with Kaduna’s business-friendly environment. He highlighted the far-reaching impact of the Economic City project, envisioning it as a catalyst for modern and affordable housing, bolstered by robust infrastructure, security, and a conducive atmosphere for business activities.

The governor elaborated on the multifaceted benefits of the project, noting its potential to foster international trade, support local entrepreneurs and traders, and cultivate opportunities within product value chains to enhance economic growth. The project’s scope extends beyond housing, encompassing clinics, shops, poultry farms, and farmlands designed to accommodate both rainy season and irrigation farming.

The Qatar-led endeavor in Kaduna represents a collaborative effort aimed at uplifting disadvantaged communities, fostering economic growth, and catalyzing positive change in the region. As the project progresses, it is expected to reshape the landscape of Kaduna State while leaving a lasting impact on the lives of its residents.
