Tragic Incident: Kenyan Woman Fatally Stabs Husband and Two Children, Survives Suicide Attempt
A devastating event has sent shockwaves through Rongai, Kajiado County, Kenya, as authorities launch investigations into a horrifying incident involving a woman who allegedly took the lives of her two children, stabbed her husband multiple times, and then attempted to end her own life. The incident occurred in the late hours of Thursday, June 8, 2023, leaving a community in disbelief and mourning.
The woman at the center of this tragedy has been identified as Christine Karimi. Currently admitted in critical condition at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Karimi stands accused of launching a violent attack on her husband, Rodgers Andere, following a heated argument. According to witnesses residing in the vicinity of their residence at Taaria Apartments along Maasai Lodge Road, the couple had been experiencing ongoing domestic issues that had been causing strain within their relationship.
The confrontation between Andere and Karimi took a horrifying turn when, upon his late-night return home past 1 am, the woman allegedly assaulted him with a knife. In a frenzied attack, she reportedly stabbed Andere three times in the head and neck, leaving him in a critical condition. Miraculously, Andere managed to escape the dire situation, seeking help from concerned neighbors who promptly rushed him to a nearby healthcare facility to receive urgent medical attention.

The tragic turn of events did not stop there. As authorities began their investigation, they discovered that Karimi had purportedly locked the doors of their residence, remaining inside. It is alleged that she proceeded to commit the unimaginable act of taking the lives of their two innocent children: Amani Otieno, aged 6, and Tyrel Agogo, aged 2. The heart-wrenching scene unfolded as she allegedly stabbed her own children, inflicting fatal injuries upon them. Overwhelmed by despair and anguish, Karimi then turned the knife on herself, attempting to end her own life.
Eyewitness Namu Moraa, who has resided in the area for the past three years alongside the ill-fated couple, revealed that domestic conflicts were not entirely uncommon between Karimi and Andere. While occasional disputes had been witnessed, the severity and tragic outcome of this particular incident left the community in utter shock and sorrow.
In response to the distressing situation, Kajiado North Police Commander Hussein Gura confirmed that law enforcement officers have recovered the murder weapon from the scene and have initiated a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding this devastating incident.
Currently, both Andere and Karimi are receiving medical treatment at KNH, where their conditions remain critical. Meanwhile, the bodies of their two deceased children have been transported to the City Mortuary, a haunting reminder of the irreplaceable loss and profound tragedy that has befallen this grieving family and community.
