A 17-year-old male student was arrested after he violently attacked a teacher’s aide, leaving her unconscious and in critical condition.
According to the police report, the incident occurred during a classroom session when the student was caught using his Nintendo Switch by the teacher’s aide, who promptly confiscated the device. The student became agitated and refused to comply with the teacher’s instructions to return to his seat. The situation escalated quickly as he proceeded to shove the teacher’s aide with such force that she was thrown several feet into the air before crashing to the ground, hitting her head hard.
The student then continued to assault her by repeatedly slamming her head into the floor, rendering her unconscious and defenseless. He then spat on the victim and threatened to kill her when he returns, according to the police report.

The police arrived at the scene promptly and arrested the student on charges of felony aggravated battery with bodily harm. He was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and later transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
The Flagler County School District has released a statement condemning the violent incident and offering their support to the victim and her family. Spokesman Jason Wheeler wrote in an email on Friday, Feb. 24, that out of respect for their employees, the district does not provide updates on medical conditions.
