In a tragic incident near Wynberg Magistrates Court in Cape Town, South Africa, an unidentified woman, believed to be a witness in a court case, was shot and killed. The shocking event was captured on video and shared on Twitter by CrimeInSA. The footage shows the woman leaving the court premises and walking towards the main road when a man follows her and fires two shots at her head before fleeing the scene.
According to police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie, the incident occurred at approximately 10:45 am on May 25, 2023. Tragically, the woman succumbed to her injuries on the spot and was declared dead by medical personnel who arrived at the scene. The brutal nature of the crime has sent shockwaves through the community and law enforcement agencies.
Shamila Nicholas, representing the Wynberg Community Policing Forum (CPF), revealed that the victim was attending a court case in which she served as a witness. It is believed that she was specifically targeted and followed after leaving the court. The case in question dates back to 2018, indicating that it has been ongoing for a significant period.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and investigators are actively working to uncover more details surrounding the circumstances leading up to the tragic incident.
